One of the places I like to go and relax in is my bedroom. It’s a little on the small size, but with some careful thought and some smart storage ideas, your bedroom can be neat and tidy. No longer will you have to search through endless piles of laundry clothes, trip over shoes and find the other sock.
Here are some great ideas to clean up your small bedroom and get it organized.
1. Use the space you have under your bed
Why let this precious floor space go to waste when you can use it effectively. There are loads of great products out there that you can use to the space that is under your bed.
Under the bed shoe storage is perfect for putting away the shoes you are not currently wearing. This will clear away that shoe clutter and when the seasons change just swap over the shoes!
Under the bed drawers also exist to clear away valuable closet space for the off season clothing. If it’s winter you don’t need to have all of the summer clothes taking up your closet. Store it under your bed!

2. Maximize your closet space
Lurking behind those closet doors is valuable space you cannot afford to waste. Some clever thinking and organization can get your closet working for you.
You need to think about what you wear often. If it is, then these clothes need to be easily accessible and not hiding under 4 feet of other clothing. You will never find it!
Stackable drawers can be used effectively to clear up space in your closet. Things like bras, socks and other things that don’t fold easily should be placed in drawers. Your shoes should also be picked up off the floor and placed into separate compartments.
Ties can be a problem if you have plenty and an automatic or electric tie rack might be the solution for you. These great little gadgets fit easily into any tight closet and makes choosing a tie a breeze.
Other great ideas to maximize the space in your closet include installing a full length mirror and hooks on the inside of the closet door. Closet wire systems are very useful in providing storage space in your closet.

3. Think open storage for a child’s room
When it comes to a child’s room, you want for them to become independent little thinkers and active in their own world. To do this, you need an open storage plan. By this I mean that your child can see where most things are in their room. Most toys can be reached and clothes in the closet can be accessed. Stackable boxes and cubed shelving is perfect for storing childrens toys. As your child gets older many of these things can be swapped and the storage can be used for other things.

When things are starting to get organized down low and you are running out of space elsewhere, think up high. You can use the space on the wall near the ceiling with some shelving. This shelving is not easily accessed so it can be very handy for items such as luggage cases, christmas trees etc. These shelves can also be closed in if you wish.
If you have TV in your room, you can get wall brackets to mount your TV on the wall which takes away the need for cabinets and other drawer type pieces of furniture that take up valuable space. Small shelves can also be used to hold clock radios and lamps.

There are many items on the market that can be used very effectively to create the space you need in your bedroom.
